As I mentioned yesterday, this week's Card Sketch at Sketch Support inspired two completely different layouts. Today, I'm featuring the second of the two. You can download the Card Sketch here.
Who could resist those circles? I'm a sucker for a circle any day of the week. I just happen to have acquired a new Lucky 8 Punch and I was itching to test drive it. I 'stole' the middle of the plaid patterned paper by tracing a large circle and cutting it out - being careful not to bend or tear the outside. The Seafoam Green paper (which I punched with the Lucky 8) covers the hole in the plaid paper and makes a perfect home for the hand cut plaid circle.
I layered torn strips of yellow polka dot paper over the background circles, inking the edges in Donna Salizar's new Mixed Media Inx in Honey. I forgot how fun it is to swipe the ink along the edges of my paper!!!
I added some Heidi Swapp chipboard borders (Geeze, I've had those in my stash for a loooong time!) and scuffed up the edges with sandpaper and a bit more Honey ink.
The pre-printed title is the perfect addition to the layout - it mimics the flower in the sketch to the letter! I used a few pop dots to lift the scalloped circle adding depth. The kraft tags, jute twine and Tim Holtz Ideaology Game Spinners finish it off.
This layout is part of four pages we're creating in an upcoming class called what else....Story of Us.
Check out the 'Learn' page of our website for class times and details.
We would love to have you join us!
